It’s Tax Time (And other reasons to grumble)

So April is upon us and it is time for us to fork over money to the feds or claw back some of our own funding. Or perhaps you are in need of an extension which is just fine. After all, the government drags their feet in giving us our money so why shouldn’t we show them the same courtesy?

I recognize that taxes are necessary to a certain degree. The point of contention I have with government bureaucrats and liberal relatives are just how necessary. For some reason, using that money to fund necessities that are outlined in the Constitution are not considered as important as sending it overseas.

“So Pax, why don’t you come up with a better idea?” Glad you asked! I have a few notions that might make April a far more cheery occasion.

1. Taxes only get paid out to the state in which you are a resident. States with no state tax continue on with their methods of income generation. The rate of taxation is no more than five percent of what you take in that year.

2. Out of all of the money the states take in, no more than ten percent is given to the feds. This is to encourage them to only spend money on what they are supposed to.

3. Election Day is April 16th. Why? Imagine how pissed off the average citizen is at being forced to part with hard-earned money and now some career politician wants to stay in office. Good luck with that justification.
