To proclaim or not to proclaim…

My first time setting up a post, apologies if it looks wonky!

The White House issued “A Proclamation on Transgender Day of Visibility” on March 30th. Here’s the link to the White House’s post, and the last two paragraphs of said proclamation:

“NOW, THEREFORE, I, JOSEPH R. BIDEN JR., President of the United States
of America, by virtue of the authority vested in me by the Constitution and the
laws of the United States, do hereby proclaim March 31, 2023, as Transgender
Day of Visibility.  I call upon all Americans to join us in lifting up the
lives and voices of transgender people throughout our Nation and to work toward
eliminating violence and discrimination against all transgender, gender
nonconforming, and nonbinary people.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand
this thirtieth day of March, in the year of our Lord
two thousand twenty-three, and of the Independence of the
United States of America the two hundred and forty-seventh.

JOSEPH R. BIDEN JR.”

Anybody with a sense of decency was disgusted by this.  Speaker Mike Johnson blasted the Biden administration on X.  Trump had plenty to say about it as well.  The Rainbow Jihad (shamelessly stolen phrase from Steve Deace) chose this date, so the administration tripped over themselves to accommodate.

But this time, they tripped so hard they forgot to tell Ol’ Joe.

“He’s thoroughly uninformed,” Biden remarked when asked about Johnson’s comments. “I didn’t do that,” he said.

One of two things are at play here.  Either Biden did issue the proclamation and completely forgot, or his handlers forgot to tell him.

We’re either dealing with dementia or incompetency.  What scares me though is the amount of people who are comfortable with this.
