We all know the government uses our tax dollars to fund research for stupid things. In a multi-trillion dollar economy, a few million here and a few million there really isn’t that big of a deal. But when a nation is in debt to the tune of $18 trillion-plus dollars and counting, any sane person knows there needs to be cut backs, starting with areas that have absolutely no importance.
When President Obama was first elected, he promised to go through the budget line-by-line and cut any unnecessary spending. Clearly he and I have a difference of opinion on what’s necessary and what’s not in a budget, since we’ve spent $3.5 million on grants to find out why three-quarters of lesbians are obese.
If the government ever decides to hire someone to actually manage a budget that works, I’m available for hire. But then we all know they don’t really want to cut anything.
