Good Friday

He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed.

1 Peter 2:24

Today is Good Friday, the day when Jesus was crucified and died for our sins. It’s a solemn day whose meaning I’ve begun to recently understand over the past few years. Even in agony, he asked for his tormentors to be forgiven. Knowing that he was to die, he still comforted the thief by saying he would be in Paradise with him. And even knowing there was a Host of angels prepared to save him and smite the wicked, he refused to order it as he knew his death had a purpose.

Hopefully, today is one of of peace and reflection for you.
