Malice or Incompetence? ¿Por qué no los dos?

Thanks to NRPax for this well-written piece.

Recent events in Texas have led me to believe that we are facing a very real possibility of a civil war in this nation. Millions of unvetted migrants are allowed to come here unchallenged and claims of asylum are pretty much sick jokes.

So-called “Sanctuary Cities” are now shrieking about the fact that they have to carry the burden of dirty unwashed masses in their sacred grounds. Fentanyl is migrating up here and crime rates are going up. Texas has begun to put its foot down and has started cracking down on the migration. The Biden Administration has threatened them with legal action and to the credit of the state, they have drawn a line and dared the feds to cross it.

By any objective standard, allowing crime, disease and the Third World to come here is a bad thing. Overwhelming charities and government services for people who have no place here doesn’t serve any interests of citizens. But there seems to be this unwavering belief that we can throw open our borders, welcome everyone and soon the world will be sunshine and roses.

Those of us who are forced to live in the real world have an issue with this mindset.

There is the argument that these people are seeking asylum. But by the definition of asylum, you stop at the first country outside your borders and ask for it. You don’t keep going until you find the country with better welfare benefits that will allow you to bring your entire extended family over. The asylum claim gets spit out a lot and the loudest voices screech about Jesus while not being Christian themselves. I like pointing out that the Bible also tells you to obey the laws of the land.

Also, if the asylum claim was legitimate, then the oppressive nations they are fleeing should not be receiving any aid from us ever again.

There are people who yap that “We’re a nation of immigrants.” No, we aren’t. We are a sovereign nation with established borders and have been for a long time. We are more welcoming to immigrants, but we have to force the government to stress the legal part.

The confusion over this is what is gained by doing this. You could argue malice and that this is a part of a great plan (Great Replacement and Cloward-Piven are two examples). I think this is a real possibility. Especially because the people pushing this will never be hurt by it.

Incompetence is another view and it’s easier to understand. Our government and its elected officials are not able to put their foot down on this. They simply prefer to stand back and let us suffer while scolding those of us who push back as being racist.

I truly hope that the actions of Texas are going to encourage other states to the point that the feds have to back down. The alternative is too horrible to contemplate.
