Food! Who doesn’t like it?

Thanks, Mark for submitting this tasty subject matter!

Something a little happier to discuss my friends, rather than the news. Easter isn’t so far away, and we all like talking about the foods we love, so here: We’ll combine the two favorite topics. Holidays and food.

These are my family’s staples, and my parents before us; some are from Ang’s side, combining the best ideas from both families. The usual favorite is brown sugar glazed ham. I prefer a picnic ham or a ham shank, but a spiral cut will do if that’s what’s in the budget.  Potato salad, mine, which I’ve discussed before, and being Easter?

Eggs: a must on Easter, unless they are really scarce this year. Deviled eggs I know my brother loves and can make like a Champion. Pickled beets and eggs, an Ohio staple. Love braised yams, or carrots, on the side, or Brussel sprouts… and always, fresh hot dinner rolls to top the dinner celebration of re-birth.

I would ask you all: what are your traditions, your favorite Holiday meals ideas. We can maybe each find something new to try, or a new idea. Ham is our tradition, but what’s yours?

Recipes are welcome, but not necessary. I just want us to have fun with this. So, my friends, what do you all think?
