Great work, Mark. You’re a natural.

The Fourth of July—also known as Independence Day or July 4th—has been a federal holiday in the United States since 1941, but the tradition of Independence Day celebrations goes back to the 18th century and the American Revolution. On July 2nd, 1776, the Continental Congress voted in favor of independence, and two days later delegates from the 13 colonies adopted the Declaration of Independence, a historic document drafted by Thomas Jefferson. From 1776 to the present day, July 4th has been celebrated as the birth of American independence, with festivities ranging from fireworks, parades and concerts to more casual family gatherings and barbecues.

History of the Fourth of July – Brief History, Early Celebrations & Traditions – HISTORY

Since the beginning… America has celebrated our Independence, and birth as a Free nation. It hasn’t always been a unified day. The Civil War, Reconstruction. Parts of the Great Depression, Civil Rights. And the descent into rabid left-wing politics destroying everything.

We are all still Americans, and rather than dwell on our differences. I choose to focus on what we have to be hopeful about.

The last year has especially given us cause for hope. when even deeply slanted towards the left polls say 83% of Americans say this nation is headed towards disaster. A Huge majority. Polling and party registration; over 1 million new GOP voters. People here that I know personally who have always voted democrat? Now wouldn’t if you held a gun on them.

Not to say the GOPe isn’t a major failure too but less out of malice, than cowardice. We have to FIX that.

What we are left with is a large majority who demand change. Freedom. No more schools indoctrinating our kids, grandkids. No more out of control spending, no more unnecessary foreign wars, and a return to basic civility. Human decency, which the media never shows.

Now is a time of healing, of joining, even if we disagree on side issues. We have to agree that we are all neighbors and treat each other as such. On the BIG issues, we agree, and that’s a start.

So, I’ll be standing with family, friends, neighbors and asking we each work to make this change happen.

BE the leaders we need. BE the heroes we yearn for. In times of trial people always step forward. Some will this time as well. We need only remember WHO we are.

A people, every color, creed, national origin, a people, yearning to breathe FREE.

Have a Glorious 4th everyone. God Bless us all.
