We’ll Keep Our Inequality, Thank You

There’s something I’ve always wondered about feminists. Why do they want to be “equal” to men?

Most men do in fact treat women differently than they treat other men. Just a few examples of how most men treat women…

–Men usually open doors for women, not men.
–Men usually lift heavy objects for women. Men challenge other men to see who can lift the heaviest objects.
–Men usually watch their language around women. No locker room banter.
–Men usually do the dirty work around the house. They snake drains, they plunge toilets, etc.
–Men usually work more hours in order to provide for their families.
–Men usually walk on the side of the woman nearest the street so they take the most impact from a runaway car.
–Men usually go check out that scary noise at 2am.

The way men treat women differently than men is to show women more respect than men; to risk their lives in hopes of protecting the woman; they show devotion and loyalty; they do their best to carry the burdens so that women don’t have to.

I like that men treat me differently than their brothers. So to the women that want to be “equal” I say, go for it. But keep me and others like me out of it. We like our inequality just fine.
