Every Day Should Be Flag Day

I saw 13 Hours in the theater when it first came out. Now that it’s out on video, I rented it to watch again last night to watch while I was working on this post, and I’ll probably watch it again before I return it. Needless to say, I didn’t write one word while the movie was playing. If you haven’t seen it, go rent it tonight. Flag Day is a great day to watch this film.

One of the final scenes in the movie (not a spoiler) is a shot of Old Glory riddled with bullets floating in a swimming pool at the compound where the first Benghazi attack took place. It’s not a very important part of the movie–more of a side note really–but it always kills me to see our flag disrespected. But this was done by terrorists, so I guess we can’t expect much better from them.

What sickens me though, is to see Americans trample on our flag. The very symbol of what allows them the freedom to do such a thing is what they hate.

Every day should be Flag Day. Our flag should be honored and respected. It’s a symbol of our liberty, our freedom, and the rights which we enjoy like no other country. Fly your flag proudly every day if you have one.
