2015 Fox Business/Wall Street Journal GOP Debate Open Thread

Welcome, everyone, to another GOP debate open thread. Tonight’s debate takes place in my own hometown of Milwaukee. I sort of wish I had tried to make arrangements to be a part of the press gaggle and gotten access to blog from there so I could gripe about the rest of the media and post photos of how many of them didn’t stand up for the National Anthem. Oh, well. There might be other opportunities someday.

Anyway, this debate is a Fox Business/Wall Street Journal gig, and there are a number of ways to watch or listen to it. You can…

  • Watch the debate on your local Fox Business Network cable or satellite channel. To make sure everyone has a chance to watch the debate, they intend to “unbundle” it so that just about anyone with cable or satellite television can access the program.
  • Stream the debate live for free and without any cable subscription requirements over at foxbusiness.com (more direct link here) or wsj.com.
  • Stream over your phone with the WSJ app, the Fox Business app for iOS, or the Fox News app for iOS and Android.
  • Listen on the Fox Business Network by way of SiriusXM channel 113, on radio.foxnews.com. Or check around your local radio dial. It might be playing on one of them.

Those who want to follow or engage in the discussion on social media sites like Facebook and Twitter can do so using the hashtag #GOPDebate.

Tonight’s debate schedule is as follows:

The first debate with the lowest-polling candidates starts at 7pm Eastern/6pm Central and ends an hour later. Those who will be a part of this undercard debate are Chris Christie, Mike Huckabee, Bobby Jindal, and Rick Santorum.

The prime-time debate that starts at 9pm ET/8pm CT and runs for two hours will include Donald Trump, Ben Carson, Marco Rubio, Ted Cruz, Jeb Bush, Carly Fiorina, John Kasich, and Rand Paul, who each scored 2.5 percent or higher in recent polls.

Lindsey Graham, Gov. George Pataki, and Gov. Jim Gilmore are distractions and therefore did not qualify for either of the debates.

So there’s your basic information for the fourth GOP debate of the 2016 primary season. Now you have a place to yak about it or about whatever else is on your mind. As always, have fun, but play nice.
