National Parks Day

On August 25, President Woodrow Wilson established the National Parks Service. This has grown into hundreds of parks and millions of acres within our nation.

There is more to the Parks that just nature and solitude of course. There is a lot of history found in them from ruins of old fortresses, a path of the Underground Railroad and the Gold Rush of the 1800s.

So post your own story about your times in any of them. Personally, mine was when the wife and I went to Zion and Bryce Canyon National Park. Saw a lot of neat wildlife, got some decent shots of mule deer, looked up at Angel’s Landing and said “Nope” and enjoyed the fact that it was quiet despite the crowds.
