A DJ Rant

Oh boy. So, let’s see if this order of events is correct…
· 2010: Republicans run against Obamacare, saying we must repeal it; Republicans win the House.
· 2012: Republicans nominate Mr. Romneycare, who loses badly to Mr. Obamacare.
· 2014: Republicans run against Obamacare, saying we must repeal it; Republicans win the Senate.
· 2015: Republicans pass a full repeal of Obamacare that is vetoed by the President.
· 2016: Republicans run against Obamacare, saying we must repeal it; Donald Trump wins the Presidency.
· March 6, 2017: Republicans release the American Healthcare Act, AKA Trump/Ryancare. This doesn’t repeal Obamacare but merely amends it.
· March 6, 2017-March 13, 2017: Many congressional GOPers try to get massive support for the bill and lack of a full repeal despite it passing a little over a year prior. However, many grassroots politicians openly decry the bill (including a large chunk of the House Freedom Caucus, which could very well flip the bill out of existence). Many Conservative activists also heap massive criticism on the bill, most notably ConservativeReview writer Daniel Horowitz.
· March 13, 2017: The Congressional Budget Office says 24 million would lose healthcare if the act passed by 2024 (though many would lose it do to not being forced to buy it, and would thus opt out of it).

That timeline seems correct.

OK. I suppose it’s time to get my policy hat on and begin talking.

So GOP. You ran on a repeal. Yet you don’t repeal Obamacare. You say this new act will be a three stage act- yet we don’t know anything about the other two stages. And if your first is any indication, you’re next two will likely make Obama’s legacy stay almost perfectly intact.

Here’s some advice from me, apparently an idiot 18 year old who doesn’t know when it’s time to shut up and let the grownups in the GOP make real decisions and not to go all Conservative Jihad on it (something I’ve been told before). BTW- stuff like that, and Obamacare 2.0, is a major part of why Trump won the GOP nomination (which is ironic) and why Ted Cruz finished in second place.

The free market is the BEST way to go. There is no real other way. Single payer increases taxes massively, and will drive millions of jobs out of our country because business owners won’t be able to afford to hire people (meaning people like me who are currently unemployed with minimal experience and no college degree will be screwed). We’re already seeing Obamacare’s effects. And now, RINOcare is likely to have a bit of a better effect then Obamacare but not much better.

But Republicans in congress seem bent on bipartisan, and getting Democrats on board. Let me tell you a secret. Are you sitting down? This is a biggy, don’t want you to fall back when I tell you. You good? OK.
DEMOCRATS DO NOT WANT TO WORK WITH REPUBLICANS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Holy crow, that isn’t hard to figure out. An 18 year old has figured it out… How have you, members of Congress, not?

Look. You passed a full repeal bill a few years back. Why not pass it again? You have more than enough people in Congress to do such a thing.

“Oh but we have to be compassionate and cover people! Otherwise, people will think we’re monsters!”

A. You’re gonna be called monsters by Democrats for literally anything you do. Remember- Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio have been called neo-Nazis. You know- the children of Cuban immigrants who fled oppression from one of the worst dictators of the second half of the 20th century.

B. OK, you want compassion? Here’s an idea: Reform the Medicare/Medicaid system entirely. Tie medical aid to taxes, and allow special accounts to be made by people who actually want the aid. If you have an account, and make a certain amount, you’re guaranteed a certain amount (along with certain circumstances) for a full year. Allow them to save the money up, add as much as they want, and use it at offices they want. And if you want to, you can even allow it to be used towards medical insurance. Then you have a compassionate bill (still too much government though) that also fully repeals Obamacare. It can help provide much needed reform to medical aid as well. And while we’re there, deregulate the insurance industry- make it easier for insurance companies to do what they’re supposed to.

Or listen to the House Freedom Caucus and enact their bill.

Or just continue being a piece of it party that seems to think that the Left is the way to go, and that Conservatives are unneeded despite being the ones who got you where you are today.

But hey, what do I know? I’m just a stupid 18 year old.
