Pipelines Harm Women and Minorities Disproportionately?

I love feminists! No not really. But they are a good source for a chuckle every now and then.

You’d think at some point they’d find happiness. But no. They went from bra-burning and not needing men and standing on their own to pitiful, lower-the-standards-for-us because they can’t compete at that level, safe-space demanding because they can’t handle differing opinions or the aggressive sounds of hand clapping, wannabe taxpayer funded abortion receivers because they can’t afford it themselves, pay-for-their-birth-control also because they can’t afford it, and just overall perpetual victims. Their ROAR is now a constant WAHHHHHHHHHHH!

Now they are whining about the Dakota Access Pipeline. Because “climate change” blah blah blah. As the author of this article undoubtedly submitted this masterpiece of fear via a computer–made from bad bad oil, while texting man-hate to her BFF on her fancy smartphone–made from bad bad oil, and sipping her eco-friendly water from a plastic water bottle–also made from bad bad oil, I just have to laugh. Is she willing to give up all of the luxuries she we enjoy in this wonderful country to “save the planet?”

This pretty pansy goes a step further to claim that the earth-destroying pipelines and refineries disproportionately affect women and people of color.

This fossil fuel extraction disproportionately impacts people of color and particularly women who often live on the front lines of climate change – from oil drilling in the Ecuadorian Amazon, to oil refineries in majority African-American communities in California…

This statement implies that mostly people of color and women live in the areas where these refineries are located. Ignoring the Ecuadorian Amazon since I’m not particularly knowledgeable about that part of the world, I looked up some statistics on refineries in the United States.

The author made sure to be specific about which state she used as an example…California. California refines a very small portion of the oil that is refined in the United States–rounding up for ease, about 2 million barrels of oil at 19 facilities. Compare that to just two refineries in Texas, one in Port Arthur and one in Baytown, which when combined, refine about 1.2 million barrels a day. That’s just two of them! Add up the 25 facilities in Texas, and you get nearly 6 million barrels a day.

The largest refinery in California is in Contra Costa County. Demographics for the county are 66.8% white and women are 51.2% population. Hmmmmm.

Jefferson County, Texas is home to the largest refinery in the United States. Demographics for the county are 59.4% white and women make up 48.8% of the population. Hmmmm.

How are people of color and women disproportionately affected by these earth killers? Who knows. I looked up a few other counties that are home to some of the larger refineries and found similar demographics.

The only thing I found truthful and not laughable in this article was higher crime rates, including rape. But last I checked pipelines and refineries weren’t capable committing crimes and raping women.
