GOP Letters

Today I’d like to show you two letters. The first is an email that Clete Torres received, and the second is his response. And thank you, Clete, for sharing them with me and allowing me to share them with the class.

Clete,

Next week, Democrats will host their convention to coronate Hillary Clinton as their nominee — inevitably sending the left into a frenzy.

Millions upon millions of dollars will flood into House Democrat races. That’s why I’m calling on you to pitch in to the official Speaker’s Fund – the only fund solely dedicated to protecting and growing our majority in Congress.

Pitch in $25 immediately >>>

Pitch in $50 immediately >>>

Pitch in $75 immediately >>>

Pitch in $100 immediately >>>

Or pitch in another amount via this secure link: https://secure.speakerryan.com/speakers-fund/

No matter what happens in the presidential election, every single bill will have to make it through Congress before becoming law.

That means WE MUST retain control of Congress if we have any hope of rolling back the liberal policies of Barack Obama and Nancy Pelosi.

Speaker Ryan set an ambitious goal of $1 million before the Republican National Convention ends — and we’re nearly to our goal. We’re just $217,795 away.

It’s up to you to make sure the momentum is on our side after this week, and all the way until November 8th.

This is our year.

Newt Gingrich
Former House Speaker

The Speaker’s Fund is a project of Team Ryan

Paid for by Team Ryan, a joint fundraising committee authorized by and composed of Ryan for Congress, Inc., Prosperity Action, Inc., and the NRCC.

Got a flash for you, Newt.

I’m done with the GOP.

When Conservatives in the party are routinely ignored, demonized and vilified, when the Party of Reagan decides that Donald Trump is a better candidate than a Constitutional Conservative like Ted Cruz, and when that same party through actions at its own convention take bold faced actions to marginalize Conservatives for a Liberal Democrat running as a Republican – that tells me that you don’t want me, my vote OR my donation dollars.

I’ve voted Republican since 1980, consistently. I’ve held my nose and voted for squish candidates like McCain, Romney, and outright traitors to the party like Mark Kirk simply to keep Democrats from advancing their agenda. But no more, not another time. I don’t care if Hillary is elected at this point, because either way I vote – Trump or Clinton – it’ll be for a Democrat. And I refuse to violate my conscience this time, or in such a manner.

Reince and the rest of the RNC are responsible for the coming destruction of the Republican Party. There are millions that feel like I do, and we’re staying home in November because we cannot in good faith cast a vote for someone who hates the Conservative base of the Party. We’ve given Republicans chance after chance after chance to return to their roots as the anti-Democrats, and they’ve failed miserably. We were told that “if we take the House, we could effect great change!” And they did nothing. We were told “if we take the Senate, we could effect great change!” And they immediately stabbed us in the back with Cromnibus. We were told “we really need the Presidency to effect great change!” And they put up…Romney. Who wouldn’t even debate Obama on his failings, and wouldn’t even go after him when his Administration left four brave Americans to die in Benghazi!

And now you have backed a proven liberal Democrat in Donald Trump. Even Reince stated that he “was not a Republican” yet still made damned sure that Trump got the nomination. 2016 was so winnable after 8 years of Obama and his failures – and all you and your cronies have done is sabotage the most easily won election in recent history. And now, both you and Paul Ryan have sent me impassioned pleas for a donation within the past 12 hours.

Well let me make this perfectly clear to you sir: I’ll never give the GOP another dime of my money, I’ll never spend one more minute defending the GOP and it’s illogical choices in candidates to anyone. And lastly, I’ll never cast another vote for any GOP candidate, in any race, Presidential or down-ticket. You’ve built this fire, poured the gasoline on it and lit the match. I’m going to stand back and watch it while it burns the GOP to the ground.

I pray to God that the nation doesn’t follow it.

Sincerely,
Clete Torres
