Sheriff David Clarke Rips Useless Rep. Gwen Moore a New One

Oh, man, I love this.

Today, Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke–you may have heard of him–who I’m proud to say is my sheriff, tore into Congresswoman Gwendolynne Moore, who I’m ashamed to say is my district representative in the U.S. House. Rep. Moore is one of those drifting bowel movements that the voters around here mind-numbingly refuse to dump from the DC chamber pot. All she does is stink up the place. Seriously. She is awful. Nationally, people may remember Moore for being the mother of the tire-slashing Supreme Solar Allah.

What prompted Sheriff Clarke’s wrath was a column that appeared on the Daily Beast yesterday that had Gwen’s name attached to it as the author. In her column, she apparently wrote of her view of Clarke.

Moore claimed that in 2013, Clarke “advocated vigilantism instead of dialing 911 in the event of a burglary.”

That, of course, is a total lie. If Moore bothered to listen to Sheriff Clarke’s ad that aired on Milwaukee radio stations at the time, she’d know he did not say to shoot a burglar instead of dialing 911. He said that “simply calling 911 and waiting” when someone breaks into your house was no longer the best option. Instead, he advised listeners to consider taking a certified safety course in handling a firearm in order to defend themselves.

Oh, and it was a radio PSA, so unless Milwaukeeans had the superhuman ability to see sound waves (I didn’t and still don’t), I’m not sure how they could have “watched” Clarke’s “campaign ad,” as was written in Moore’s column. Though Clarke ran for re-election the following year and won (obviously), the ad she referenced was not an ad for his re-election campaign. The original 2013 radio spot ended with the announcer saying, “This safety message brought to you by the Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office.” So she didn’t get that part right, either.

Moore also connected Clarke to the “most extreme elements of the Tea Party” and wrote that he helped Fox News “spread a slew of dangerous narratives.”

“Fox” and/or “Fox News” appears in Moore’s 934-word column (including title) eight times. She referred to the Tea Party four times. I don’t think she likes them very much, you guys.

Gwen went on to talk about black lives mattering, mean cops needing training, and how David Clarke picked on poor Eric Holder.

Here’s what she wrote at the end of the column, which I only include to provide context for how Clarke responded.

I’m not a fan of Sheriff Clarke or his politics, but I do believe he could provide a valuable voice to this national conversation. Unfortunately, his appetite for the spotlight continues to erode what little credibility he has left, and his authority is further weakened under the weight of his own theatrics. If the sheriff truly wants to help us, it’s time for him to prove that he’s more than just another partisan agitator with a badge and a cowboy hat.

The self-proclaimed “people’s sheriff” needs to drop the sideshow act and get serious. Until then, I can only wonder if Sheriff Clarke is still a lawman or just a guy who plays one on TV.

That leads us to today’s lovely, awesomeful rebuttal by Sheriff Clarke on the website Right Wisconsin. Clarke writes:

First of all Congresswoman Moore did not author that political attack. She does not have the intellectual capacity to do so. Have you ever heard her speak? That came straight from the Democrat Party of Wisconsin and maybe even the DNC. The Democrat Party has two uses for Gwen Moore. One as a loyal liberal vote and the other is as a surrogate to go after conservatives by playing the race card and more specifically in this case going after a black conservative so white liberals can keep their hands clean and not be attacked for going after a Black guy. She is a plantation gate keeper.

Congresswoman Moore is arguably the most irrelevant member of Congress. She has authored no significant legislation and been part of no important discussions going on in Washington. The Democrat Party nationally has her buried because she is an embarrassment and they know it…

Oh…OH, it is a thing of beauty. I could have easily quoted the rest of what he wrote, but you should go to the link and read it there.

Clarke’s signature at the end of his rebuttal is terrific.

“David Clarke: The Peoples Sheriff!

Sheriff Clarke is right. Congresswoman Moore has nothing to brag about. She’s a shrill dunce who is one of the biggest lunkheads in Congress today. Living in this town can be quite frustrating when people like Moore keep getting re-elected by the majority here. It’s nice to have at least one person in charge with some good sense who isn’t afraid to call out Moore on her nonsense.
